Worcester - a “Warriors-loving city”

Thank you to everyone who visited our stand on Chapel Walk in the city centre today. It was great to see and hear such enthusiasm from such a wide-ranging population. Naturally we chatted to a fair few people who were already WWST members but so many more who were just as excited about a possible return to action in September - young adults, families, older couples and teenagers alike. It was heartening to witness the passion for Warriors that is still so strongly evident.

There has been some ridicule on Social Media of yesterday’s Daily Telegraph article calling Worcester a “rugby-loving city.” We certainly can’t claim to be at the level of a Gloucester or a Bath but, from today’s evidence, there is love in abundance for Worcester Warriors out there. Many people may have turned away from rugby since the club collapsed in 2022 but they fully intend to return to Sixways should Warriors get the green flag from the RFU.

So, if not a “rugby-loving city” then Worcester is, for sure, a Worcester Warriors-loving city!

One of our favourite visitors today has clearly found it difficult to move on since the loss of her beloved team. To prove her status as a “super-supporter” she was happy to reveal some unexpected artwork:

That’s the sort of dedication we love to see! If anyone else has similar displays of devotion to Warriors we’d love to hear from you.
